Drunk Driver Possessed Machete: Byram Township Police

A Brooklyn man with a machete was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Sunday, July 28 in Byram Township, authorities said.

Officers observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and driving on the shoulder on Route 206 South, Byram Township police said. After pulling the vehicle over, officers believed the driver, Damian Sul, may be intoxicated, police said. Sul failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

A search of his vehicle led to officers discovering a machete and several open containers of alcohol, police said. Sul was charged with driving while intoxicated and numerous traffic violations, police said.
